The Challenge:
The family required a three-bedroom property in Fenham to be cleared as part of administering a deceased relative’s estate.
The house contained furniture, clothing, books, kitchenware, small electrical items, storage boxes and general household belongings collected over many years.
The main challenge was separating items for removal from personal possessions that the family wanted to keep. Photographs, important paperwork, legal documents and sentimental belongings needed to be identified carefully during the clearance.
Several larger pieces of furniture also had to be removed through hallways and doorways without causing unnecessary damage to the property.
Our Solution:
Before starting, our team confirmed the family’s instructions and identified any belongings that were already marked for retention.
We then worked through the property room by room, carefully sorting the contents into items for retention, reuse, recycling and responsible disposal.
Family photographs, documents and sentimental belongings discovered during the clearance were placed separately and kept safely for the customer.
Bulky furniture was dismantled where necessary to make removal safer, while reusable household items and recyclable materials were separated before loading.
Special care was taken around doors, walls, flooring and stairways throughout the clearance.
The Result
The probate clearance was completed in approximately six to seven hours by a three-person team.
One full van load of unwanted furniture, household contents and general items was removed, with approximately 640 kg of material diverted towards recycling and responsible processing.
Important documents, photographs and belongings identified for retention were left safely for the family.
Once completed, the bedrooms, living areas and main access routes were left clear and accessible, allowing the executors and family to proceed with cleaning, valuation, estate-agent inspection or preparation of the property for sale.
