The Challenge:
The customer required a man and van service in Pallion to remove a mixture of unwanted furniture, boxes and household belongings from a three-bedroom terraced property.
The contents included sofas, drawers, small wardrobes, chairs, storage boxes and various household items that needed to be removed during a single visit.
One of the main challenges was working within the narrower access typically found around terraced properties while moving bulky furniture safely through doorways and hallways.
The customer also needed several boxes and personal belongings to remain at the property, so the team had to clearly separate items for removal from those being kept.
Our Solution:
Before starting the job, our two-person team confirmed exactly which furniture and belongings were to be removed.
We worked through the property systematically, beginning with boxes and smaller household items before moving the larger pieces of furniture.
Wardrobes and other bulky furniture were dismantled where necessary to make them easier and safer to carry through the property.
Care was taken around walls, flooring, door frames and entrance areas while moving heavier items.
The van was loaded carefully to make efficient use of the available space, while reusable and recyclable materials were kept separate where practical.
Items identified by the customer for retention were left safely in place.
The Result
The Pallion man and van removal was completed in approximately three to four hours by two clearance operatives.
Around ¾ of a van load of unwanted furniture, boxes and household belongings was removed from the property.
Approximately 430 kg of material was directed towards reuse, recycling and responsible disposal where suitable routes were available.
The living areas, bedrooms and access routes were left clearer and easier to use.
By completing the removal during one scheduled visit, the customer avoided arranging separate furniture collections or making repeated journeys to a recycling centre.
