The Challenge:

The customer required a substantial amount of unwanted furniture to be removed from a four-bedroom detached property in Darras Hall, Ponteland.

The property contained several large and heavy items, including sofas, wardrobes, bed frames, dining furniture, cabinets and other household furnishings that were no longer required.

The main challenge was removing bulky furniture safely from different rooms while protecting doors, walls, flooring and other parts of the property. Some of the larger items could not be carried through the property in one piece and needed to be dismantled before removal.

The customer also wanted the work completed efficiently within the same day so that the rooms could be prepared for new furniture and further property improvements.

Our Solution:

Before starting the furniture removal, our team inspected the property and confirmed exactly which items were to be taken away.

We planned the removal route through the house to reduce unnecessary movement and minimise the risk of damage.

Large wardrobes, beds and selected furniture were carefully dismantled where required. Sofas, cabinets and dining furniture were then moved through the property by our three-person clearance team.

Reusable and recyclable materials were separated during the clearance wherever practical. Furniture unsuitable for reuse was loaded for responsible recycling or disposal.

Particular care was taken around door frames, stairways, walls and flooring while heavier furniture was being moved.

Once each room had been checked, the remaining unwanted items were loaded into the clearance vehicle.

The Result

The furniture removal was completed in approximately four hours by a team of three clearance operatives.

One full van load of unwanted household furniture was removed from the Darras Hall property.

Approximately 520 kg of furniture and associated materials was directed towards recycling and responsible processing where suitable routes were available.

The bedrooms, living areas and dining spaces were left clear and accessible, giving the customer the space required for replacement furniture, decorating and further improvements to the property.

The work was completed within the agreed timeframe without the customer needing to arrange separate collections for individual pieces of furniture.
